Selecting Typical Group Markers

Note

You cannot select the takeoff objects represented by a Typical Group Marker individually - they are just virtual "shadows" of the takeoff within the Typical Group Frame. To change that takeoff, you must return to the Typical Group Frame and make your changes - which affects all Markers.

  • To select a single Marker, click on the Select Tool button from the Takeoff Tools toolbar and then click on the Marker.
  • To select multiple Markers, hold down the <SHIFT> key and click on each Marker.
  • To select all the Typical Group Markers on the current, Active Page for a specific Typical Group, right-click on the Typical Group in the Typical Group Pane, and choose "Select Objects" or press Ctrl + T (Note: if the Frame exists on the active Page, it is selected also - keep this in mind if you are only trying to delete the Markers.

Once selected, you can move, copy (or cut) and paste, rotate, or delete Typical Group Markers just like any Count object. If you delete a Typical Group Marker, you affect the Marker Count and Takeoff Item Results but deleting a Marker does not affect the takeoff residing within the Typical Group Frame.

Jumping To A Typical Group Frame

You may find it necessary to review the takeoff located inside a Typical Group Frame, but may not remember where that Frame exists in your bid. You can jump-to a Typical Group by double-clicking any Marker for the Typical Group.

The program locates the Page where the Typical Group Frame exists and opens it in a new Takeoff window, with the Frame is zoomed into focus.

To return to the previous location, close this new Takeoff window or click on the original Takeoff Window tab.
