There are four Layers that affect Typical Groups:
1 - The Takeoff Item's Layer
Just like any other takeoff, the takeoff inside the Typical Group Frame, and displayed at the Typical Group Marker, responds to the state of a Takeoff Item's Show-Hide control in the Takeoff Items Pane.
2 - The Layers to which the Takeoff Items used to draw the takeoff within the Typical Group Frame are assigned
Just like any other takeoff, the takeoff inside the Typical Group Frame, and displayed at the Typical Group Marker, responds to the state of a Layer to which a Takeoff Item is assigned.
However, if the
Layer to which the
Typical Group itself is hidden, all
takeoff associated with the
Typical Group is hidden, regardless of the "show" state for individual
Takeoff Items or Layers.
3 - The Layer to which the Typical Group is assigned
The Layer to which you assign the Typical Group (in the Typical Group Properties dialog box) controls the Typical Group Markers, throughout the bid. Showing or hiding this Layer shows or hides the Markers and the takeoff associated with each Marker (unless you are already hiding this by right-clicking on a Typical Group and selecting "Hide Takeoff at Markers..."
4 - The Typical Groups Layer
This is a System Layer to which all Typical Group Frames are assigned. Showing or Hiding this Layers shows-hides all Typical Groups Frames, but not their associated takeoff, throughout the bid.
The takeoff still displays, both where the Typical Group Frame is located and where each Typical Group Marker is placed.
