In the Introduction section, we gave you a brief look at the Projects and Bids List screen. The Projects and Bids List is the main starting screen for ConstructConnect Takeoff - this is the running program, and where you find and manage your projects and bids (hence the name...).
At the end of this Chapter, you should understand how the Projects and Bids List is laid out, how to navigate through your projects, and how to use the Recycle Bin. We cover creating projects and bids and managing access to your projects in the next Chapter.
As we explained in Chapter 1, your Projects and Bids List shows every project to which you have access, even if read-only - see Related Articles for a refresher on how Projects can be added to your Projects and Bids List.
When you open ConstructConnect Takeoff,
- If you clicked on "Send to Takeoff" in Project Intelligence or Bid Center, or "ConstructConnect Takeoff" in document viewer/web takeoff, that project is added to your ConstructConnect Takeoff Projects and Bids List. The program launches and the Current Bid is opened for you, automatically. You can always close that bid and open any other bid in your list. You can also close that bid and open a completely different bid in a different project.
- If you launched ConstructConnect Takeoff from your desktop, your Projects and Bids List shows you every project in your Organization to which you have some access (even if that access is "Read Only").

Showing and Hiding Columns
Click on the Column Picker control in the upper-left corner of the list.
You can hide or show whichever Columns you need to help you locate and organize your Projects. Just toggle the check mark on and off to show-hide that Column.
In our example, we removed the check mark for "Organization" because, at this time, you can see Projects for only one Organization. This frees a up a little room to see other columns.
Before we go any further, we need to explain what a Project is and how they are created.
