02.06 Duplicating Projects and Bids
Last Updated: 2022-06-13 14:35 |
You can duplicate an existing project, including all bids contained within the project, or you can duplicate individual bids within a project. To create an exact copy (Duplicate) of a Project or Bid: - Select a project or bid you want to duplicate and click the Duplicate button on the toolbar, or
- Right-click on a project or bid and select "Duplicate" in the Context Menu.
Important Notes- When you duplicate a project you downloaded/pushed from Project Intelligence (Contractor Platform) or Bid Center, you are only duplicating the project in ConstructConnect Takeoff (there are not two projects in the platform site). Both of the Takeoff projects (the original project and the duplicate) remain "connected" to that single platform project so any updates to plans (new addenda, for example) are applied to both Takeoff projects.
- When you duplicate a project that is not tied to the ConstructConnect platform (Project Intelligence or Bid Center), meaning a project you created manually in ConstructConnect Takeoff and added the plans via the Plan Organizer, a duplicate copy of all Plan Sets is made in the Cloud. The projects are independent of each other - changes to Plan Sets in one project do not affect the duplicate project.
- When you duplicate a bid, the duplicate (copy) shares its Plan Sets with every other bid in the project. You can activate/deactivate Plan Sets in each bid within a project independent of other bids, however, if you delete a Plan Set, you're deleting it for all bids in the project.
Again, if you delete a Plan Set from one bid in a project, you are deleting that Plan Set at the project-level and that Plan Set is removed from all bids in that project. See How Plans Are Shared Within a Project for details. Duplicate Takeoff projects are identical to the original, except for the name which is appended with "Copy" and a sequential number.
