18.01.07 Changing the Takeoff Item Result to which a Cell is Linked

Sometimes, after you link a cell to a Takeoff Item Result, you change your mind or notice the first link is incorrect. Either way, you need to change the Result that's getting pulled into a cell.

Changing the Result to which a Cell is Linked

In our example, we linked all three of these cells to the same Result (Length).

However, perhaps we realize that for the first cell, we really needed the "Length minus Attachment widths " Result, so we can account for the doors. That Result is already calculated and available, we just have to link the cell to the correct Result by creating a new Live Link:

First, select the Takeoff Item in the upper section so you see the list of all available Results - it does not have to be the same Takeoff Item you used originally.
Select the cell whose Live Link you want to change.
Then, double-click on the Takeoff Item Result (in our example, we now want the "Length (minus Attachments widths)"

Notice the updated Qty (the value being pulled down from the Cloud) and the Comment now shows the new Result.
