See Page |
Site |
The job site - where a building or construction project is taking place. |
Snap angle |
An option that makes it easier to draw takeoff at set angles. Can be disabled by holding down the <Shift> key (one-time), or changing the option (always). |
Spec |
Specification
Exact details about a construction project, typically aligned with CSI Master Format, or the prevailing cost format. |
Style |
A Style is a term that identifies the overall type of Condition. There are four styles of conditions - Linear, Area, Count, and Attachment. |
Sub |
Subcontractor.
An entity hired by the general contractor to complete some specialized portion of work (such as drywalling, concrete forming, etc.), that the general contractor does not self-perform. Typically aligned with Master Format. |
Takeoff |
v. The action of drawing measurements on an electronic image that correspond to building objects.
n. The visual representations of those measurements.
Proper Noun. A nickname for ConstructConnect Takeoff. |
Takeoff Item |
Replaces the term "Condition".
A building component, such as a specific type of wall, floor, window, door, etc. that is measured and then costs applied for a Proposal or Estimate. Each Condition represents a unique building object, so if you were measuring 8' and 10' walls, you would need two Conditions. |
Template |
A Condition that has been saved for future use. |
Template Group |
A group of related saved Conditions (Templates) that can be added to a bid as a group. |
Typical |
A way of speeding up the takeoff process by reusing or repeating something so the user only has to draw the takeoff once. See Typical Areas and Typical Groups. |
Typical Area |
A repeating region of takeoff that the program multiplies out so the user only has to draw the takeoff once. |
Typical Group |
A selected portion of takeoff that can be placed (marked) on the plans with one click rather than drawing all the takeoff objects separately. Sort of like a souped-up copy and paste, but all marked takeoff objects are linked back to the Typical Group so the user can make a change to the Typical Group and affect the takeoff wherever a marker was placed. |
uncloseable |
When drawing an Area takeoff, creating a shape that cannot be completed because one or more segments cross over each other creating multiple objects. |
Unique Plan |
A Plan that is the only Plan with which a Page is associated. Deleting a Unique Plan means the Page has no Plans (drawings) associated with it which causes the Page (and all takeoff, annotation, and file attachments stored on it) to be removed (deleted) from the project. |
